Discussion Forum & Guidelines

Over 50% of new members never login to their account... probably because the notification email goes into their trash bin. Please check your trash bin if you do not receive approval emails after you register.

The rules and guidelines for this forum are simple. Please read them BEFORE registering below:

1. This forum is intended as a safe place for nonalcoholics to get help and support for resolving an alcoholic relationship. It is also a place to vent, but the primary focus is to RESOLVE an alcoholic relationship.

2. This is a very liberal board with the only real prohibitions being any type of hate and/or racism directed toward any member, religious proselytizing, advocating faith-based remedies, or the advocation of relying on a higher power to solve one's problems (ER is religiously neutral). Swear words ARE allowed provided that they are infrequent and not directed toward any member of this forum.

3. There is no judgment or shame allowed within this forum... members can post anything (other than the prohibitions contained in this post) without fear of criticism or judgment. Any violation of this mandate may result in the offender being banned. Please do not post something that is in poor taste.

4. This forum is private... guests or casual surfers cannot view any topic.

5. For your own security, please use a private email address to register with, and one that only you have access to. Occasionally, you may receive an email from the Forum Administrators.

6. You may not publish any audio program or individual post on another website or redistribute any audio program or individual post without written permission This does not include sharing with another individual.

7. The forum Administrators (Doug & Tracy Kelley) reserve the right to ban or prohibit any member from posting if that member becomes combative and unreasonable, the determination of which is made at the sole discretion of the forum Administrators (this only happens in extreme and rare circumstances).

8. Anyone joining this forum with the sole intent to sell something, or anyone posting any kind of spam designed to sell anything will be permanently banned from this forum. This does not apply to current members who are simply referring a relevant product or service to another member.

9. These rules and guidelines are subject to revision as necessary.

These guidelines may sound a bit "official," but they only exist so that everyone can be on the "same page." Thank you for being a member of this forum!

THE OTHER FINE PRINT (Standard forum "stuff")

You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, hateful, harassing, sexually (porn) oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this forum.

Note that it is impossible for the staff or the owners of this forum to confirm the validity of posts. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages, and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of this forum, its staff, its subsidiaries, or this forum's owner. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator or moderator of this forum immediately. The staff and the owner of this forum reserve the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, please realize that they may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of this forum, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries. The owners of this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this forum.

You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another person except an administrator, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another person's account for any reason. We also HIGHLY recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft.

After you register and login to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information the forum owner or staff determines to be inaccurate or vulgar in nature will be removed, with or without prior notice. Appropriate sanctions may be applicable.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.

Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer.

Please Note: After you register, you will receive a confirmation email.  Please check your bulk email box or trash bin if you do not receive the confirmation email.

DID YOU REGISTER BUT CAN'T LOG ON? Please read the paragraph directly above this one.

NOTE TO AOL USERS: Please DO NOT report the registration activation emails to AOL as spam! When this happens, I get a concerned email from my web host, who has already received a nasty and threatening email from AOL. AOL is anal when it comes to anything that even remotely smells like spam. (I'm surprised any AOL user can even send or receive emails!)
